Most International rugby players, if not all, speak fondly of the times they got to stand in front of a packed stadium and belt out their national anthem.
On numerous occasions across all sports, celebrities and well-known figures have been given the opportunity to sing the anthem ahead of big events and the same occurred in 1997 when the Melbourne Cricket Ground hosted the Bledisloe Cup clash between Australia and New Zealand.
The honour was handed to then young actor, Hugh Jackman, who was described by the commentator as an "Australian singing star". Indeed, Jackman was yet to play his breakout role as the X-Men's Wolverine and was instead doing musicals in Australia before hitting the big screens in 2000.
The Australian who was in fact born in Melbourne belted out the anthem before the clash that saw Australia lose 33 - 18.
Frank Bunce, Christian Cullen and Jeff Wilson all dotted down for the visitors with Carlos Spencers adding the extras on all three tries as well as four penalities while Jason Little and George Gregan crossed the whitewash for the Wallabies.
