The Crusaders tame the Lions to extend unbeaten home run
- 1252
The Crusaders tightened their grip on this season’s Super Rugby competition as they swept the Lions aside 36-10 on Frida.
Scott Robertson's side have now won now their last 25 home games in the competition and hardly looked off the pace after their bye last week as they cruised to victory.
The Crusaders started strongly, running in an early try and adding a penalty for a 10-0 lead. The Lions pulled three points back with a penalty, but the Crusaders went over for a second try to take a 17-3 advantage into the halftime break.
Two early second tries a minute apart saw the Crusaders storm into a commanding 31-3 lead. A Lions intercept try reduced the deficit, but any hopes of a comeback were quickly snuffed out as the Crusaders hit back with their fifth try to seal a comfortable victory.
