Ireland’s
prospects in what is shaping up to be a championship decider against England
in Dublin on March 1 have been badly dented by news that their influential
No 8 Jamie Heaslip has been ruled out for a month with three broken
vertebrae in his back.
The damage was inflicted by a knee from the Stade Français lock Pascal Papé,
who is also likely to miss the remainder of the tournament after being cited
for the offence.
