Saints and Wasps do battle at Franklin's Gardens
- 1168
The Saints will attempt to take the sting out of Wasps when they meet at Franklin’s Gardens in the last of Saturday’s fixtures.
Wasps put in a winning shift during Round 19 – defeating Worcester Warriors 23-19 at the Ricoh Arena.
Saints, on the other hand, succumbed to the courage of the Newcastle Falcons, who managed to put their rivals down, 18-10.
While Saints hover in fifth position, they trail Harlequins by 11 points, effectively putting them out of reach of the play-offs.
They will have to brace themselves for a furious onslaught from Wasps who occupy 8th spot – a position they will desperately want to maintain as it guarantees them entrance into European competition next year. However, Bath and Wasps are neck-&-neck on overall points, meaning that Wasps, actually, have a huge amount to play for.
Round 8 was the last time these teams clashed – a game played at the Ricoh Arena and won by Saints, 22-17.
