15 – Willie le Roux 6/10

Good under the high ball, although he made some questionable tactical kicks early in the game and even cam close to scoring in the 28th minute.


14 – Cheslin Kolbe 5/10

A rather silent game for the wing, not making much of an attacking imapact



13 – Jesse Kriel 6/10

After a very silent first half, Kriel broke the line 64th minute and found Arendse who scored his second try of the game. However, a yellow card damaged what would have been great second half comeback.



12 – Damian de Allende 3/10

DDA left much to be desired, and was eventually subbed off and replaced by Pollard in an expirimental run.


11 – Kurt-Lee Arendse 7.5/10

Arendse got off to slow start, but scored in the 36th, and again inthe 64th minute off a Jesse Kriel assist. He came close to scoring another hat trick against the Wallabies and won a the final penalty to seal the game   


10 – Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu 8.5/10

After a Missed penalty in 7th minute, the youngster never looked back and domininated the game from there on. His attacking was on point, running the SA backline like a true general.

9 – Cobus Reinach 6/10

A solid job done by the scrum-half distributing the ball at will, and causing a threat on attack.

8 – Elrigh Louw 7/10

In his starting debut, the 8th man carried the ball well and was extremely efficient on defense. It was indeed a good game for the youngster.

7 – Ben-Jason Dixon 8/10

Dixon was efficient at the lineout set piece, partnering up together with Etzebeth in a line out set piece that led to a Siya Kolisi try. The stormers flanker also proved his defensive efficiency.


6 – Siya Kolisi 8/10

The captain opned the scoring with a try in the 9th minute, to lead his team to a dominant start that kept the Wallabies scoreless in the first half. Kolisi was strong at the breakdown.

5 – Pieter-Steph du Toit 8/10

Du-Toit put on a vintage performance, making game chaning tackles, and scoring in the 24th and 54th minute

4 – Eben Etzebeth 7/10

 A strong showing at the lineout, Etzebeth won all of the Springboks lineout, forming a lethal paring with Dixon.


3 – Frans Malherbe 7/10

The front row was solid at the scrum, with Malherbe helping to win a scrum penalty earlier on.

2 – Bongi Mbonambi 5/10

The veteran hooker had a good start to the game, winning 3/3 lineouts. However his game was short lived as he was out 28th minute. He was however brought back on, as he was taken off as a technical sub.

1 – Ox Nche 8/10

The scrumming was impecable from the Springbok prop, dominating almost every scrum, while carrying the ball and attacking the Australian line well. 

solid defense and attacking before going off in 54th minute.

Replacements:

16 – Malcolm Marx 7/10

Marx came on for Mbonmambi earlier in the first half, and threw 100% from the lineout while also forcing turnovers at the breakdown. Marx also came close to scoring in the 31st off a lineout.


17 – Gerhard Steenekamp 6.5/10

After coming on in the 54th minute on, steenkamp held his own in the scrum and carried the ball to make his attacking impact.

18 – Vincent Koch - 6/10

Having also come on in the 54th minute, Koch displayed Good Scrumming to win the ball at the set-piece 


19 – Salmaan Moerat 4/10

Not much contribution was made by Moeraat, as he also conceeded a penalty in the 70th minute.


20 – Marco van Staden 6/10

On in the 54th minute, van Staden made vital breakdown contributions 


21 – Kwagga Smith 7.5/10

On in the 54th minute on, Smith scored a Try in the 61st minute, destroying the breakdown and making carries


22 – Grant Williams 5.5/10

After being Subbed on in the 52nd minute, Williams took over the reigns from Reinach and kept up with his distributing duties


23 – Handré Pollard 6/10

After starting on the bench, Pollard came in at 12 before shifting back to ten after a technical sub.
