Rieko Ioane set to sign new NZ Rugby deal

All Black and Blues winger Rieko Ioane's current contract is set to expire at the end of the Rugby World Cup next year and according to the NZ Herald Ioane will sign a new deal in the coming weeks.

The 2017 World Rugby Breakout Player of the Year and has been a high-priority signing for the national organisation. 

His new deal, which could be for three to four years, will be announced alongside that of his brother, Akira, who is on the All Blacks fringe.

Both men had already committed themselves to stay at the Blues but it is understood that Akira has agreed on a shorter deal.

With 16 tries in 17 tests, Rieko Ioane has become a key attacking weapon for the All Blacks and could virtually name his price on the open market.

New Zealand Rugby's next priorities will be to lock in first-five Beauden Barrett, locks Brodie Retallick and Sam Whitelock, and loose forward Sam Cane, all of whom come off contract at the end of next year.
