PRO14 Round 6: Cardiff Blues v Cheetahs

Cardiff Blues notched up their second victory in the Pro14 with a 30-17 home win over the Cheetahs in round 6. The Blues started strongly, with an early penalty and try seeing them build an 8-0 lead. The Cheetahs then picked up a red card 14 minutes into the match, with the resulting penalty making it 11-0. However, despite being a player down, the Cheetahs came storming back with two tries to hit the front 14-11. The Blues would keep the scoreboard ticking over with two late first half penalties, with the Cheetahs picking up a yellow card to end the half as the hosts led 17-14 at the break. The Blues crossed for an early second half try, with the Cheetahs pulling three points back with a penalty shortly after. Cardiff Blues continued to apply scoreboard pressure, slotting a further two penalties to extend their advantage out to  30-17 heading into the final quarter. The Blues would pick up two yellow card in the final ten minutes, but the Cheetahs were unable to add to the score line.
