Premiership Round 20 Highlights: London Irish v Worcester Warriors
- 1600
Worcester Warriors come away with a full house of points for just the second time this season as tries from Francois Hougaard (2), Melani Nanai, Ollie Lawerence (2) and Tom Howe saw them claim a 27-40 victory over London Irish. It was the Exiles who started brightest with Ben Loader cruising over for Les Kiss's side but the Exiles were forced back into their half for an extended period of time before Francois Hougaard snuck over in the 25th minute. Worcester continued to knock at the door while dominating possession and territory while the Exiles also saw Issac Curtis-Harris go to the sin bin. Despite the Warriors' dominance it was London Irish who led at the break with Paddy Jackson slotting a 35-metre penalty on the stroke of half time. Worcester found their precision in second fourty with Hougaard scoring his second try after a nice set piece move where Lawrence broke the line to feed the former Springbok. The Exiles were put under even more pressure with Terence Hepetema going to the sin bin in the 47th minute for a no arms with the Warriors capitalizing immediately with Nanai speeding in out wide. Lawrence got his name on the scoreboard before the hour mark with the Exiles hitting back through Albert Tuisue soon after. Worcester's set-piece continued to provide with Lawerence going over for his second. Ben Meehan and Tom Homer scored for the Exiles in the latter stages before Tom Howe made in a 27 point victory.
