A hattrick of first half-tries from flanker David Pocock set up a comprehensive 31-18 Vodacom Super Rugby win for the Brumbies over the Highlanders in Canberra on Friday.
The Brumbies had looked a little flat in some of their previous matches, and were shocked on home soil by the Rebels just a week ago, but they made their own statement about the energy levels in the team when they surged to an overwhelming 31-6 lead over the shell-shocked Highlanders by halftime.
By the time the break arrived the Brumbies had already banked their four-try bonus point, so perhaps it wasn’t too surprising…
