MLR HIGHLIGHTS: Atlanta v Utah
- 1958
Rugby ATL kick off their maiden Major Rugby League season with what turned out to be a pretty comfortable 28-19 win over Utah. There were a number of lengthy periods of kicking tennis but the crowd was treated to 5 tries, 4 of which coming from the hosts. Conor Keys scored Rugby ATL's first ever MLR try while the likes of Ross Deacon, Marno Redlinghuys and Duncan van Schlakwyk all added their names to scoresheet. The game also saw the return of former Kings and Stormers pivot Kurt Coleman who kicked five points after almost two years on the sidelines with a broken leg.
