Leicester sign Mermoz

Leicester Tiger have confirmed the signing of French international centre Maxime Mermoz. Mermoz will spend the remainder of the season with Tigers.

Leicester have lost centres Manu Tuilagi and Matt Toomua to long-term injuries and have bought in, 30 year old, Mermoz to the necessary cover.

Aaron Mauger commented on the situation saying:

We are missing two big players in our midfield, and we're very happy to be able to bring in a player of Maxime's style, quality and experience there."

"He has played at the highest level in France, in Europe and internationally, and we look forward to bringing him into the squad."

Mermoz has represented France 35 times and has won French leauge titles with Toulouse, Perpignan and Toulan. He also won European Cups in 2013 and 2014 with Toulon.

Mermoz has won 35 caps and landed French league titles with Toulouse, Perpignan and Toulon. While at Toulon, he also helped them to European Cup triumphs in 2013 and 2014.
