HIGHLIGHTS: Super Rugby Round 16: Blues v Rebels
- 964
A disappointing result for the Blues as the Rebels win at Eden Park for the first time in their history. A very scrappy game throughout but the Rebels benefitted from clever hands in the 8th minute when Ruru offloaded to put Meakes through for his first try of the match. Hepetema got the Blues first try almost a half hour later for his first try in a Blues jersey. Dane Haylett-Petty put the Rebels ahead when he too benefitted from some superb hands by Saaga, Maddocks and Faingaa. Meakes got his second when he ran another great support line off Koroibete just after half time as the Rebels took a 10-17 lead. Reece Hodge added a long range three and the score remained unchanged from there despite the Rebels best efforts to secure the bonus point.
