The Jaguares opened the scoring with an early try and kicked two penalties to build a 13-0 lead, but the Brumbies would finish the first half strongly with two late tries seeing them trail 13-10 at the break. Despite picking up a yellow card early in the second half it would be the Jaguares to score next to extend their advantage to 20-10 heading into the final quarter of the match. The Brumbies responded with their third try soon after to reduce the deficit back to three points. The Jaguares took control with their third try giving them an eight point lead, with the Brumbies managing a penalty with the final play of the game to secure a losing bonus point.
