HIGHLIGHTS: Northland v Otago

The opening few minutes were closely contested with Peter Breen and Fletcher Smith trading penalties before Jack Goodhue created a fantastic try for Solomona Alaimona in the 28th minute.

 

James Lentjies was yellow carded for a dangerous tackle shortly after Alaimona's try. Breen and Smith traded penalties before the end of the half with the home side going into the break 19-6 ahead.

 

Breen added another penalty early in the first half before Macilai-Tori scored. Smith picked up a try for himself 5 minutes later as Otago started their comeback. 

 

Breen slotted two further penalties in the 2nd half while Villimoni Koroi and Jona Nareki scored for the visitors but Northland held on to secure the win, Otago were able to pick a bonus point loss for their efforts.
