Connacht's Heenan may miss Pro12 start after hand injury
Jake Heenan set to miss the start of Pro12 due to an injury he sustained in last nights pre-season vs Montpellier.
The 24-year old New Zealander was taken to hospital on Thursday evening in France after a stud went through one of his hands.
“He got a stud right through his hand. He got quite a nasty gash and had to go to hospital,” said coach Pat Lam.
Lambie on the road to recovery
Pat Lambie is said to be concussion free, but will still need to go through post concussion syndrome protocols before a return to play will be possible.
He will now be put through a procedure called the Buffalo Protocol, aimed at reducing the syndrome, and will slowly return to exercise until he is ready to take part in full contact sessions.
An exact date of Lambie’s return to action will only be determined once he has made full progress.
NRL star Curtis Rona joins the Force
The Western Force have secured the signature of Canterbury Bulldogs star Curtis Rona, with him making a code switch after signing a two year deal with the club.
“The signing of Curtis is good for us on a number of levels,” he said. “Obviously being a local boy him coming home means a lot as we look to keep growing rugby in the state and the second thing is that he’s a weapon,” said Interim Head Coach Dave Wessels.
“He has been incredibly successful in the NRL as one of the leading try scorers in the competition and is a really exciting player. At 24 he is still very young so we feel he fits nicely in our plans for our backline.”
