Dragons team for final day derby
- 325
Back row Ryan Woodman returns to the starting line-up as Dragons RFC face Scarlets Rugby in the final game of the BKT United Rugby Championship season on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 5.15pm).
Head Coach Filo Tiatia makes four changes to the side that were defeated by Edinburgh Rugby as the curtain falls on the league campaign at Parc y Scarlets.
Woodman – called up by Wales this week for the Nations Championship – returns in the back row while there is also a change up front as Wyn Jones faces his former club.
Scrum half Niall Armstrong is recalled and plays his final game for the club in Llanelli while wing David Richards also returns out wide.
Lock Levi Douglas and prop Rhodri Jones are back among the replacements.
Tiatia said: “It’s an important game in the calendar, our last of the season. It's a local derby and they’re special. It's also an opportunity for both teams to climb the ladder.
“Scarlets are playing well. I think Nigel (Davies) and (Dwayne) Peely have got the group moving forward, in comparison to when we last played them. They're a different side.
“They’re playing a lot freer, the backs are dangerous and they have strike players, so they have threat across the park.
“They’re also going to come at us at set piece and around the collision side of the game.
“It’s a derby game and people can get ready for two sides going after each other in the last day of the season.”
