Crusaders power past Hurricanes in Christchurch
- 2105
The Crusaders thwarted the Hurricanes’ hopes of recording their first victory of the 2021 Super Rugby Aotearoa campaign as the men in red powered past their rivals 33-16 in Christchurch.
Codie Taylor was in great form and scooped the man-of-the-match award. The Canes started strongly, holding a 6-point lead as the first quarter drew to a close before they lost captain Ardie Savea to a yellow card. The Crusaders capitalised and got on the board via a Codie Taylor try.
Scott Barrett’s men then found some rhythm and built a score of 26 as the half-time whistle sounded.
The Crusaders carried their form into the second stanza and proved too dominant for the Canes to have a shot at the victory.
