Chiefs set for All Blacks boost ahead must-win clash
- 1480
The Chiefs have received an ideal boost ahead of their potentially season-defining clash with the Rebels in Melbourne this week.
Co-captain Brodie Retallick has been declared fit for the clash after 8-weeks on the sidelines with a wrist injury.
Speaking to media in Hamilton, Retallick couldn't contain his excitement at getting to gear up in such a vital match for the Chiefs.
"It's about time, eh?" Retallick joked.
"It's been a long eight weeks, but I'm definitely excited to be out there against the Rebels."
Both the Chiefs' co-captains, Brodie Retallick and Sam Cane, have missed large chunks of the season through injury but the Chiefs will have both their All Black forwards for the clash with the Rebels.
The Rebels lost 66-0 to the Crusaders over the weekend and the Chiefs will need a similar result in order to reach the Super Rugby playoffs. A bonus point victory over 46 point, as well as a few favours from the Lions and Stormers could seem them finish as high as sixth while a win (without a bonus point) and the Waratahs' winning without one a bonus point could see them sneak into the final playoff spot.
