Tasman vs Waikato: 

Waikato did not waste any time getting the business done against Tasman, whom the former brushed aside 39-22. 

Manuwatu vs Northland: 

Both Manuwatu and Northland managed three tries apiece but it was discipline which became the deciding factor as Manuwatu slotted 4 penalties to gain a healthy lead by the end.

Southland vs Canterbury: 

A tight encounter saw Canterbury celebrate a slender, 3-point victory over their rivals, Southland. 

Wellington vs Hawke’s Bay: 

Hawke’s Bay just snuck past Wellington on the latter’s home turf. Final score: 31-28. 

Bay of Plenty vs Taranaki:

The round finished off with Taranaki turning the screws on Bay of Plenty with a whopping 55-28 defeat.
