The 6’7’’ lock from Stow-on-the-Wold RFC, has Gloucester Rugby in his veins. His father, Barry, represented the Club in the 1980s.
He rose through the junior teams at Gloucester Rugby to make his first-team debut under George Skivington against Worcester Warriors in 2022, scoring a try to mark the occasion.
Whilst climbing the ranks at Gloucester, Clark was also an integral member of the England U20s sides that won a Six Nations Grand Slam in 2021.
Clark is now an established member of the first-team squad, with 35 appearances under his belt at just 23-years-old. His form this season has been rewarded with a call-up to the England senior squad for the upcoming Guinness Six Nations.
Director of Rugby, George Skivington commented:
“It’s great having Arthur commit his future to the club.
“Gloucester Rugby is in his blood and he has a very close group of friends around him who are all hungry to achieve.
“The fact he’s been called up to the England squad shows the potential he has and the good work that’s been done here at Gloucester to grow this young player.”
Clark added:
“It’s hard to put into words just how much this Club means to me. Since I was old enough to pick up a rugby ball, I dreamt of playing here at Kingsholm in Cherry & White and it’s an honour every time I get to do that.
“We’ve got a great group here, many that I’ve played with for a long time coming through the pathway. It’s really special to be able to do it week-in-week-out alongside my mates.”
