With the 2020 Six Nations done and dusted, the time draws near for the honouring of the stand-out performers who added in no small way to competition’s quality. Six players have since been nominated.

Gregory Alldritt:

A player in sublime form for France who was instrumental in a successful campaign which saw his team finish second overall, very close behind winners England.


The tough number 8 pulled off 66 carries yielding a total of 393 metres, made four breakdown steals and 81 tackles.


Antoine Dupont:

A significant string in France’s attacking bow, Dupont made life difficult for opponents in every game. A live-wire round the fringes who never ceased with questions to the defence.

249 running metres, 1543 metres from 54 kicks as well as the highest number of offloads in the competition (12).

Maro Itoje:

Not surprising that the tireless English second-row makes the list. A pillar of strength in the England pack, Itoje’s stats are truly impressive; he played every minute of England’s campaign, putting in 80 tackles, making 9 turnovers and hitting 33 more attacking rucks than anyone else.

Romain Ntamack:

A superb attacker, Ntamack’s partnership with Antoine Dupont is fast becoming one of the most feared in the world.

Ntamack ended the competition as its highest points scorer with 57, including three of his own tries.

His wonderful footwork and vision have rendered him one of the favourites to take this award.

CJ Stander:

The hard-as-nails Irish number 8 was his usual, menacing self in the 2020 tournament. He topped the carries stat with 77 (yielding a total of 312m) while also pulling off 7 turnovers.

His marauding, in-your-face style was a constant thorn in the sides of opponents and also won him two man-of-the-match awards 9in Rounds 1& 2).

Ben Youngs:

The English half-back won his 100th cap in Round 5 against Italy, scooping a brace of tries to go with it.

His hard work ensures the English backline is always fed with quality service while his fantastic vision and control of a game create a useful platform from which England can perform with strength on both attack and defence.
