Friends, despite being American, I'm a massive fan of Irish rugby. I follow the Guinness Pro 12 more than I do our NFL. I was wearing all green in Chicago in November as I watched history made at Soldier Field. I'm playing my small part to share "the gospel of rugby" with my countrymen, and having Ireland visit us on our soil (even without the Lions tour guys) is a massive honor, as well as a great opportunity to share rugby at the test level with the US. I'm hoping the USA can follow in soccers footsteps. Twenty years ago, there was a massive effort to teach youth soccer nationwide. We now have a pro league and are "respectable" in world soccer. (30 years ago it was an anomaly for us to qualify for the World Cup. Now our countrymen almostc demand that our men's side qualifies for the World Cup.) I see youth rugby growing in our nation, and since footie has become my favorite sport, it excites me to think that as the years pass, the sentiment to "compete & win" will grow as well.
