PENALTY GRENOBLE. First points on the bar for the visitors as we approach half-time. Fly-half Blair Stewart is the man who puts it through the posts. 7-3.
Perhaps it's as a result of injuries to players on both sides interrupting the flow but for one reason or other the game has died down significantly. The early try from Gear still the only score so far.
Second injury enforced replacement for Toulouse, Gael Fickou replaces Maxime Medard shortly after Yohan Montes came in for Cencus Johnston.
Toulouse are guilty of some ill-discipline thus far. Referee has warned that a yellow card may not be too far away if it continues.
TRY TOULOUSE! Hosea Gear shows real pace and scores a breakaway try. Gathers the ball and runs in unopposed. McAlister converts and it's 7-0.
Grenoble are not here to roll over! Blair Stewart makes a decent break but no support and the move breaks down.
Serious pace to the opening exchanges, both sides putting some width on the ball.
Stewart kicks it off!
Both sides out on the field.
Good afternoon and welcome to this final round clash from the Top 14 featuring Toulouse and Grenoble, live from the Stade Ernest Wallon.Today we have two sides with very different motivations for this game. For the travelling Grenoble team, they will be purely looking to end the season on a high, sign off on a positive note. For Toulouse on the other hand, they go into this encounter with an outside chance of rescuing the final play-off position. They currently sit in 6th, so for them to have any chance they will need a maximum points victory today and also for both Castres and Racing Metro who sit ahead of them to drop points. When all of these considered it can be predicted that both teams will have a real go at playing some attacking, expansive rugby so it promises to be an exciting encounter.
