What a game for Tasman! Their first ever victory in the ITM cup over opponents Otago. The second half here turned into a try scoring frenzy for the home team with James Lowe going over twice. Some improvements to be made in the Otago setup but for Tasman they will look back on this match and see what worked well and why. Otago have gotten tired and are now falling off tackles giving Tasman more and more scoring opportunities
Just on the field a couple of minutes Guyton chases a kick upfield and the kind bounce allowed him pick and dive for the line pushing Tasmans lead into the 30s
Otago have reformed and are now on attack inside Tasman's 22 metre line
After 8 solid phases once again Lowe manages to see the space and has just 10 metres to run before diving for the line to the left of the posts. Banks misses the conversion however his side are now 42-16 in front.
A controversial yellow is shown to substitute Hooker Coltman for Otago. In what was a fair enough tackle the ref didnt seem to agree and saw it as a dangerous lift and drive above head height.
What a try again by Tasman. They play the ball inside their own 22 and fresh on the field Scott makes a superb break and makes 50 metres up the field before offloading to outside centre Fonotia who offloads out of the tackle to close supporter James Lowe. Tasman beginning to wrap this up with 20 to go.
Tasman manage to win the scrum against the head and no8 picks and flicks to scrumhalf Swanepoel who between them join forces to allow Tevita Tangi bulldoze his way over the line to push his side into a comfortable lead
Tasman on the attack inside their own half once again. They find space on the right and play is brought right up to 5 metres from Otago's line.
