Well that is all we have time for as Racing Metro defeated Bayonne 18-8 to keep their dreams alive of qualifying for the Semi's in May. Not the most entertaining match but Racing will not mind after picking up an important win in the absence of a lot of players who are away on international duty. A very quiet first half with Machenaud the difference between the two sides with 3 penalties to give the Parisians a 9-0 half time lead. Bayonne began the second half brilliantly and were rewarded when Fernandez went over the whitewash after intercepting a pass from Chevancy. The sending off for Puricelli however was a huge turning point and Bayonne struggled with 14 men and Racing took advantage with Sexton finishing off the game with 2 penalties after coming off the bench. Moyano missed a kick late on to earn Bayonne a losing bonus point and that was how the came finished. Racing will be happy with the win and continuing their fine run of form in the last few weeks. As for Bayonne they leave with nothing in what will be a difficult end to their season as they aim to avoid the drop. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy the rest of the Rugby over the weekend with Ultimate Rugby.
The sirens go out all over the stadium and Phillps decides that is enough for tonight and kicks the ball high into the stands to end this evenings match with Racing defeating Bayonne 18-8.
His kick is well short and looks like Bayonne will be leaving Paris with nothing.
Speeding who been Bayonnes best player tonight does brilliantly with a take in the air and is tackled illegally in the air giving Bayonne a penalty. Moyano will go for the posts on halfway to try and secure the losing bonus point for the away side.
4 minutes left and Racing have the ball on halfway as they look to close out this game.
Sexton slots his kick to finish off 14 man Bayonne with a kick to the left just outside the 22. Bayonne now only have hope of getting a late penalty and securing a losing bonus point.
Racing win a penalty after a high tackle from Brett on Phillips. Sexton goes for the posts in what will surely win the game for the Parisians.
No problem. Ultimate Rugby is always here to help.
A bad miss from Brett that he really had to get with time running out. A penalty earned after some great play by the Bayonne forwards. But it counts for nothing as Racing still lead by 7 with just under 10 minutes remaining.
Sexton is successful with his first kick of the night after Bayonne had hands in the ruck. The Irishman sinks his kick 30 metres out to increase the homeside lead to 7. The 14 men of Bayonne are struggling now.
