Yea same as bringing in Shane Williams just because he was in a similar time zone, im sure a few young wingers would happily cope with jet lag to play for the lions.

Yeah he is not a choice that alot of people would have made but if they were to call someone from the uk they would take ages to get there plus jet lag

Same reason as Williams was called up, convenience! And they needed someone for the bench tomorrow as replacement prop. If there are no more injuries then he will only be in tomorrow's squad. Better to call someone up who is close rather than risk having one of the starters on the test team come off the bench and get injured while waiting on someone else to arrive.

Hogg may not be as quick but he has much more flair than maitland. Also a better all rounder.
