The move begins with good work from the pack, making good ground with strong carrying before the ball is spread wide to Fujita who shows good pace to round the last man to score. Goromaru adds the extras to leave one point between the side, with just 8 minutes to go.

Try for Wales scored by winger Harry Robinson. After a messy kick from Harumichi Tatekawa, Liam Williams gathers the ball and gives a wonderful behind-the-back offload to Emyr Phillips, who shifts it on for Robinson to finish off. Biggar slots the conversion to give Wales an 8 point lead with 15 minutes to go.

Wales have finally gone close to scoring. Great work from Howells down the left keeps the ball in play, and he just flips it inside to Liam Williams for what looks like a score, but the play is brought back for a foot in touch.

Wales open the scoring in the second half through the boot of Dan Biggar. Wales work the ball up the pitch through big carries from McCusker and Coombs, until eventually Japan are penalised for slowing down the ball. Biggar converts to narrow the Japan lead to just 2, 50 minutes to go.

The opening try of the game goes to the Japanese, and deservedly so after a great first half of rugby. Off a good line out, Broadhurst gathers the ball coming round off a training ground move which deceives the Welsh defence, giving him a clear run to the line. The conversion is missed to leave the score 11-6 to Japan.

Biggar slots two succesive penalties during a good period for the Welsh. With McCusker back on the field, Wales have the edge up front, allowing them to draw in two penalties at the breakdown, which Biggar converts.

Japan again show good intensity in attack, with fly half Harumichi Tatekawa igniting an attack with an abrasive run. Eventually McCusker is forced to slow the ball down, cynically using hands in the ruck for which he concedes a penalty and recieves a yellow card. Goromaru continues his flawless start with the boot to extend his sides lead, 22 minutes gone.

After 15 minutes we finally have our opening score of the game. Japan again retain the ball well to get into good field position, when Wales are pinged for not realeasing the man at the breakdown. Goromaru steps up to slot the kick and give his side the lead.

Japan have grown into the game after a shaky start, and are currently attacking deep in Wales territory, thanks to the solid kicking game of scrum half Fumiaki Tanaka. 10 minutes gone.
