Why did Riaan Smit start and not Elgar Watts?

Replacement Jano Vermaark crosses for the Bulls after some smart off-loading. The game should be out from the reach of the Cheetahs.

The boot of Morne Steyn keeps the Bulls out at a 10 point lead.

Cheetahs now a half a chance!!

Cheetahs start the second period brightly. Some early pressure leads to a penalty opportunity and Smit duly obliges with the strike.

Morne Steyn has the last say in the first half with a convincing penalty from the left hand side of the field. Bulls deserve at least the 7 point lead they have after dominating territory and possession.

Game starting to become a bit flat, perhaps understandable after the electric start. A lot of kicking from both sides at this stage as we approach half-time.
