Marika Koroibete, born on July 26, 1992, is a dual-code international rugby player who has represented both rugby league and rugby union. He currently plays as a winger for the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby and has been capped for the Australian national rugby union team, known as the Wallabies.

Koroibete was born in Naraiyawa, Fiji, and grew up on a remote family farm. He began his rugby career playing for Nasinu Secondary School in Fiji before making a move to Australia.

After a short stint in junior rugby league, he signed a contract with the Wests Tigers in the National Rugby League (NRL). Koroibete showcased his exceptional speed and talent during his time with the Tigers' Toyota Cup team, scoring 22 tries in 26 games and playing a key role in their Grand Final victory in 2012.

In 2012, Koroibete made his NRL debut for the Wests Tigers and quickly made an impact with his blistering pace and try-scoring ability. He scored four tries in just his second game and continued to impress throughout his debut season. His performances earned him recognition, and he was named in the 2012 Toyota Cup Team of the Year and joint Rookie of the Year for the Wests Tigers.

In 2014, Koroibete joined the Melbourne Storm in the NRL, where he continued to excel as a try-scoring winger. He finished the 2015 season as the Storm's highest try-scorer with 16 tries in 23 matches.

Koroibete's impressive performances caught the attention of the rugby union world, and in 2016, it was confirmed that he would switch codes to play rugby union at the end of the NRL season.

Koroibete accepted a contract offer to join the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby for the 2017 season. The deal allowed him to play for both the Rebels and the Australian national team, the Wallabies.

He made his debut for the Wallabies in 2017 and became a regular fixture in the squad, showcasing his electrifying speed and try-scoring ability.

Koroibete has represented Australia at the Rugby Championship and the Rugby World Cup. He has made significant contributions to the Melbourne Rebels, scoring tries and becoming a key player for the team.

In 2019, he was awarded the prestigious John Eales Medal, recognizing his outstanding performances at the Rugby World Cup.

Known for his speed, agility, and try-scoring prowess, Koroibete has established himself as one of the most exciting wingers in Australian rugby. With his powerful runs and ability to finish off scoring opportunities, he continues to be a valuable asset for the Melbourne Rebels and the Wallabies.
