Manuel Diana Olaso was born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay. He attended Stella Maris College and the University of Montevideo.

In 2015, Manuel represented Uruguay U20 making 4 appearances and scoring 4 tries.

He made his international debut for Uruguay against Argentina XV in February 2017.

He was included in the Uruguayan squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup which was held in Japan for the first time and also marked his first World Cup appearance.

After the 2019 Rugby World Cup, Diana signed a contract for the Toronto Arrows in Major League Rugby (MLR). He made 13 appearances and scored 3 tries in the 2021 season.

In his 22/23 season, Manuel Diana was in red hot form scoring 13 tries in 13 matches and accumulating 65 points for Penarol.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Diana has been named in the squad for Uruguay.
