Booysen made his test debut for Namibia in 2017 against Senegal and represented the Welwitschias in the South African domestic Currie Cup and Rugby Challenge since 2017. His regular playing position is no. 8.
Booysen played for Namibia Welwitchias from 2017 until 2019.
2020 saw him sign a deal with Major League Rugby side Houston Sabercats where he has been playing until 2023. He has made 49 appearances, scored 9 tries and added 45 points to his tally.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Booysen has been named in the squad for Namibia.
