Mahu has previously played for Politehnica Iasi, Piacenza, Zebre, Timisoara Saracens and Farul Constanta.
The Moldovan international forward moved from Krasny Yar Krasnoyarsk, where he played against Irish for the Russian side in the Amlin Challenge Cup in 2017, starting in all six pool matches, and signed a deal with London Irish in October 2020.
