Eoin Toolan hails from Greystones, County Wicklow, Ireland
He played club rugby with Greystones RFC in Ireland during his playing days as a full-back
Late in 2013, he moved to Australia to join the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby as their head performance analyst, building their analysis department from scratch.
In 2018, Toolan was appointed head coach of the Melbourne Rising (the Rebels’ feeder team in Australia’s NRC competition).
In 2024, he returned to international rugby in a major role – joining the Australia national rugby union team (Wallabies) under coach Joe Schmidt as skills coach and head of analysis
