Springboks set for historic 100th Test against Wallabies

The Wallabies’ 2027 schedule will feature a landmark 100th Test against the Springboks, adding another major chapter to one of rugby’s oldest rivalries as Australia prepares to host the Rugby World Cup.
Australia will face South Africa twice away from home during the Rugby Championship, before returning to face the Springboks on home soil in a Test that will mark the 100th meeting between the two nations. The milestone fixture will cap a packed international season for the Wallabies ahead of their home World Cup.
The 2027 men’s international season will begin with the inaugural Anzac Day Bledisloe Cup Test against New Zealand at Suncorp Stadium on April 25, creating a new marquee fixture on the global sporting calendar.
The Wallabies will then open their Rugby Championship campaign against Argentina in a two-Test series at Allianz Stadium on July 10 and Queensland Country Bank Stadium on July 17.
Los Pumas’ most recent tour of Australia in 2025 set new attendance records, while the Wallabies’ highly competitive tour of Argentina this year is expected to fuel further interest in the series.
Australia will then host the All Blacks on July 31 at a venue still to be confirmed before travelling to New Zealand and then South Africa for two Tests against the reigning world champions.
The final meeting with the Springboks will be the 100th Test between Australia and South Africa, with the rivalry dating back to 1933.
The Wallabies will round off their World Cup preparations with an historic Test against world No. 3 Ireland at GIO Stadium Canberra on September 18. It will be the first Test played in Canberra in a decade and mark 100 years since Australia first faced Ireland at Dublin’s Lansdowne Road in 1927.
Australia will then take centre stage in October when the Rugby World Cup returns to the country for the first time in 24 years. The Wallabies open their campaign against Hong Kong China at Optus Stadium on October 1, before facing New Zealand at Accor Stadium on October 9 and Chile at Suncorp Stadium on October 16.
The knockout stages begin on October 23, building towards the World Cup final at Accor Stadium on November 13.
