Springbok player ratings Vs Barbarians

The Springboks kicked off their international season against the Barbarians in Qgeberha and it was a spectacle of a game ending with a score of 31 – 80 to the Springboks.

Here are our Springbok player ratings

  1. Ox Nche - 8 – He made some big tackles and was great in the scrums.
  2. Andre-Hugo Venter - 8 – Helped SA dominate in the scrums
  3. Carlü Sadie - 8 – The front trio was excellent in the scrum.
  4. Riley Norton - 9 – The youngster made some big strong carries, did well in the rucks and scored a try on debut.
  5. Franco Mostert – 7 – The lock did well behind the front free in the scrum.
  6. Siya Kolisi – 8.5 – He was in the right places at the right times and made 2-3 line breaks and assisted a try.
  7. Pieter-Steph du Toit- 8.5 – A world-class display from the loose forward.
  8. Jasper Wiese - 8 – A big physical presence in the rucks and scrums, and he does all the dirty work for South Africa. He also scored a try.
  9. Grant Williams - 7.5 – He gave some good, fast clean service and created 2 tries. He also received a yellow card which led to the Springboks to conceding 2 tries.

      

      10.Quan Horn - 9 – He made good decisions, knew when to run, when to pass and was excellent overall.

     11.Edwill van der Merwe – 9.5 – The pacey winger scored a hattrick and was named man of the match.

     12. Andre Esterhuizen - 8 – A good physical display in the middle of the park and scored a try too.

     13. Jesse Kriel - 8 – A good physical display from the centre and scored a try too.

    14. Cheslin Kolbe – The new Springbok kicker did well converting 9 from 11 kicks and scored a great solo try too.

    15. Aphelele Fassi – The fullback did well under pressure of the high balls.
