England v New Zealand | Three Key Head to Head Battles
- 1048
England hosting the All blacks this weekend could very well be the game of the weekend with plenty of history between the two sides. While England will be upset with their results over New Zealand in 2024 feeling they should have got more wins from their clashes and New Zealand unbeaten so far in November this will be a true test. Here are three key head to head's to watch.
13 | Ollie Lawrence v Billy Proctor:
Lawrence is a deadly attacker and has made an amazing comeback from a long term injury. He offers plenty with ball in hand and provides a good hard carry with his bulk and speed as well as good distribution. He faces off against Billy Proctor who has been brought back with Leicester Fainga'anuku moved to wing. You feel the move is very likely due to Fainga'anuku being a bit rusty on defence at 13 and Proctor definitely stronger in that department. While strong on defence Proctor is also a very willing passer and linking 13 which will bring the likes of Fainga'anuku, Carter and Jordan into play more out wide.
Finishing Loosies:

Steve Borthwick has made his intentions clear by going with a 6/2 bench but more importantly having the likes of Cunningham-South, Curry and Pollock close things out for the hosts. Cunningham-South has the option of playing at lock if need be but the likely All Black loose trio of Lakai, Savea and Sititi will have their work cut out but also offer a good challenge to England.
5 | Alex Coles v Fabian Holland:

Coles has come in as a surprise for many England fans and while offering a slight hybrid mentality to the 5 jumper by having the ability to play flank he is up against Holland who has hit the ground running in test rugby. A workhorse and good operator at the set piece he has been reunited with Scott Barrett who returns from injury. Coles will have to be at his best with Itoje in partnership to get one over the All Black youngster.
