Castres v Bath | Match Report

It was a typical game when you play Castres, especially when you play them on home soil. Bath were on the back foot for most of the first half, struggling with discipline issues resulting in yellow cards, being exposed on the blindside as well as up against a gritty team that more often than not play above the sum of all their parts.

The second half got off to the best start for the visitors as they scored early but also forced a number of penalties in their favor. Castres conceded 16 penalties in the game but it was at scrum time that they suffered the most. Bath may have secured a good win at the end but were made to work for it as they keep their chances of home play off's theough the knock out's alive.

Alfie Barbeary beat seven defenders on his way to the Man of the Match. He made 40 meters off his 11 carries and was a constant threat. Max Ojomoh, playing at 13 following Ollie Lawrence missing out, had a solid game with some neat touches, one of which was a try assist.
