Ava Wereta is a up-and-coming centre who represents Bond University, having started playing rugby when she was 12 years old.
Wereta was recently selected for the Australian A squad and played a key part in Australia’s Women’s Rugby 7s gold medal run at the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Games.
In 2026, Wereta joined the Wallaroos program and was selected in her first squad ahead of the Pacific Four series.
She made her international debut against USA in Missouri, coming off the bench in the side's 33-12 loss.
Off the field Wereta is a support worker while studying nursing.
