Cardiff Blues have confirmed Owen Lane has pledged his long-term future to his hometown club with a new contract.
The star wing, who burst onto the scene during the 2017-2018 season and has established himself as an Arms Park favourite, was due to come out of contract in the summer.
Since making his debut in the Anglo-Welsh Cup five seasons ago, Lane has amassed 54 appearances and touched down 24 times.
He was a key figure in the 2018 European Challenge Cup triumph and has gone on to win two Wales caps with injuries at key moments denying further opportunities.
Cardiff Blues interim Director of Rugby, Dai Young has been hugely impressed by the 23-year-old and has no doubt he will go on to make a significant impact for both club and country.
Young said: “Owen is an exciting young player, who has really impressed me since I arrived back at the club.
“We have all seen what he is capable of when he’s firing and even in recent weeks when opportunities are few and far between, he brings enormous energy and work-rate, and with his firepower you aways have the sense that he can create something.
“The important thing for Owen is that he continues to develop, work on his all round game and gets a good run of matches under his belt. He has all the ingredients you can ask for and I have no doubt the best is yet to come from him.
“We have some great options right across the three-quarters and competition for places, particularly when the boys in the Six Nations are back, is intense but that drives players on and they know they have to be at their best.
“Owen is a key figure in that group and has a big future at the club
