Ireland captain Paul O'Connell was named the Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Player of the Year at the annual ceremony, which was hosted by Rory Sheridan of Guinness, Damien O'Meara and Michael Corcoran, Chairman of the Rugby Writers of Ireland.
