Originally from Ceres in the Western Cape, Giliomee progressed through the Sharks development system and represented the SA Schools, Junior Springboks, and the Blitzboks in sevens rugby. In 2026, he made an impressive United Rugby Championship debut for the Sharks, scoring a try and setting up two others against Munster
