6 Nations Permutations; who will take the 2026 title?
- 179
The 2026 Six Nations is set for one of the most dramatic conclusions in recent history.
After an action-packed Round 4, which saw Scotland overcome France and Italy claim a historic first-ever victory over England, the Championship title has become a three-way race heading into "Super Saturday".
Who can win?
The fate of the 2026 Championship remains firmly in the hands of the top three.
Here is how they can be crowned champions on March 14th:
France who are on 16 pts and +79 PD remain in the driver’s seat thanks to their massive points difference. A victory over England in Paris will secure the title for Les Bleus. Even if they do not secure a bonus point, a win is sufficient to hold off both Scotland and Ireland, given their massive advantage in points difference.
Scotland who are also on 16 pts and +21PD have put themselves into contention for their first-ever Six Nations title after their spectacular 50–40 win over France last weekend. Scotland firstly need a victory over Ireland, and then for France to lose to England. Alternatively, they could still win the title if they secure a bonus-point victory over Ireland and France beat England without a bonus point, even though this would need them to win with a big points difference.
Ireland who are in third place with 14 pts and +16 PD must beat Scotland and hope for a favour from England. If Ireland defeat Scotland and France lose to England, Ireland would overtake France in the standings to reclaim the trophy.
