Tongan-born Taulava is a versatile forward who can operate across the back row and occasionally features in the engine room at lock. His professional career began in New Zealand with Taranaki before travelling to England where he started off with Worthing. After a two year spell in the lower leagues, Taulava was spotted by Rotherham Titans and a year in the championship provided the necessary stepping stone to further his career as premiership side Worcester Warriors came calling shortly after in 2012.
