An impressive fly half with a penchant for drop goals, having represented Scotland at U18, U19, U20, A, and 7s level, he made his senior Test debut in 2010 against New Zealand at Murrayfield.
Jackson joined Harlequins in July 2016 after two seasons with Wasps, a side he made 17 appearances for, scoring 72 points.
Prior to that he spent six seasons at Glasgow Warriors where he made 108 appearances and amassed 443 points.
In August 2017, Jackson left Harlequins to re-join Glasgow Warriors for the 2017-18 season.
January 2018 saw him being named in Scotland's squad for the 2018 Six Nations, where he will added to his 32 caps.
In May, Jackson signed a new deal with Glasgow Warriors for the 2018/19 season.
Jackson has played 156 times for the club to date, scoring 16 tries in the process.
As of the 2018/2019 Champions Cup, Jackson has had 41 European Cups appearances scoring 4 tries and 177 points.
