Fernandez plays for Selknam in the fly half position. He is also a Rugby Sevens player who plays for Chile.
In 2022, Fernandez was awarded the Best Try of The Year award at the World Rugby Awards.
Fernandez has played in eight matches for Selknam in the 2022/23 season of the Super Rugby Americas thus far, starting in seven of them and making one appearance off the bench. He scored one try and added five points to his tally.
