Piussi was part of Uruguay’s u20 side that competed in Romania 2018 despite being two years younger than the cut-off age.
At 1.90 (6’3″) and 130kg (285lbs), the tighthead specialist impressed with his size and strength in his one start and three replacement appearances.
Following strong performances in the U20 competition, Piussi was scouted by French Pro D2 team Oyonnax and signed his first professional contract in 2019.
In 2022 he returned to Uruguay and played 2 matches for Penarol in the 22/23 season.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Piussi has been named in the squad for Uruguay.
