The former Wellington College and New Zealand Secondary Schools player quickly impressed and he subsequently made his NPC run-on debut for Wellington against Counties-Manukau in 2010. Born in South Africa the burly prop has been a regular in the Hurricanes squad since his debut in 2012.
Goodes made 8 appearances in his rookie year (2012), including four starts.
His Hurricanes debut was delayed until the second half of the competition after he sustained a shoulder injury in their final pre-season match against the Chiefs. But once fit, he turned in several wholly committed performances.
Ahead of the 2017 Super Rugby, Goodes has made 60 Super Rugby appearances for the Hurricanes and has scored 7 tries since making his debut against the Chiefs in 2012.
Goodes missed all of the 2017 season as he dealt with concussion. The South African born loosehead prop is adept at set piece and a strong ball carrier
