Oscar Beard began his rugby journey at Alton Rugby Club, the same club as World Cup winner Jonny Wilkinson, also playing at Farnham RUFC.
He had been with the Harlequins academy since the age of 12 and credits Mark Escolme (Farnham Rugby Club), James Rayner (head of rugby at Lord Wandsworth College), Andy Houston (director of rugby at Cranleigh School, Warren Abrahams (Harlequins academy coach & England sevens coach 2015 – 2019) for giving him a good understanding of the game.
In June 2021, Beard was named in the Harlequins starting line up to make his debut against Sale Sharks
In January 2022, following 6 appearances in the 2021/22 season, Beard signed signed a new long-term deal with the Quins.
