Who to pick in your fantasy Six Nations XV

Who to pick in your fantasy Six Nations XV

Props

For Loosehead, with Cian Healy out injured Joe Marler looks to be the favorite to get into your side after such after a fine season with Quins. As for Tighthead Samson Lee was dominant in the scrum in November and will look to continue you that into the Six Nations while Castrogiovanni has always been a top performer in the scrum and could get into your side.

Hookers

It's hard to pick just one Hooker in your side but Hibbard looks like your best pick. The Gloucester man was picked as the Lions Hooker in 2013 and always brings his A-game when he puts on a Wales shirt. Dylan Hartley could also be worth a shout but his discipline will once again be taken into consideration.

Second Rows

One of the toughest  positions to pick two from. With England missing their first choice second row partnership of Lawes and Launchbury it makes the decision a little bit easier for you. Paul O’Connell and Alun Wyn Jones would look to be the favourites to get into your side but lets not forget Jonny Gray who has had a great season and  Pascal Pape who is one of France’s most consistent players.

Flankers

There are so many World class players to choose from but only two can be picked. Warburton, Robshaw, O’Brien, Dusautoir, O’Mahony, Lydiate to name a few. Picking two will be quite difficult and you just have to hope the two you pick will put in outstanding performances that they are usually capable of and of course, hope they don’t come off injured.

Number 8

With Heaslip and Picamoles injured for the round 1 of games Billy Vunipola,  Toby Faletau and Damien Chouly look to get your pick. However lets not forget about Sergio Parisse who will always put in a magnificent performance for the Italians. Difficult to pick, but if you’re looking at form Vunipola is probably the man to pick

Scrum-Half

The battle for the number 9 jersey is extremely competitive. You could pick from any of the Six who are starting this week. Laidlaw and Kockott could be kicking for their sides which can earn you more points while Murray and Youngs are household names with plenty of caps for their sides. However with Rhys Webb in such fine form and after enjoying such a successful Autumn Series, he might be the man to put in at scrum-half.

Fly-half

There are some extremely talented 10’s to choose from in round 1. With Ireland playing against an Italian side that people see as the weakest in the championship, Ian Keatley might be your pick at Flyhalf. Camille Lopez is another who might get your pick with the Clermont man in stunning form this season. Biggar, Russell and Ford could also get into your side with the trio going into the championship in fine form for their clubs.

Centres

You might aswell pick two names out of a hat when picking your centres, with so many talented players to choose from. Roberts, Davies, Henshaw, Payne, Fofana, Bastauread, Burrell, Joseph, Campagnaro, Bennett, Dunbar. All of the players mentioned are capable of putting in a man of the match performance, so lets hope luck is on your side and you pick the right two.

Wingers

If choosing centres were difficult wingers is twice as hard. With Zebo and Bowe coming up against Italy they look to be your best picks but with the likes of North, May, Huget and Thomas to choose from no one would blame you for not choosing any Irish wingers.

Fullbacks

After scoring four tries in five games in last years tournament, Mike Brown would look to be your favourite to start at Fullback. However you could never rule out the likes of Rob Kearney and  Stuart Hogg who are always capable of scoring a try or two. Halfpenny could also make it into your side and choosing him as your kicker would be a good call with the Toulon man having a prolific success rate from the boot.
