Weir signs extension with Glasgow

33 Year old Duncan Weir has put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at Glasgow until the summer of 2026.

A product of Cambuslang RFC, the 33-year-old is already assured of a place in the club’s record books, with the 2015 title-winner set to enter his fourth season since returning to the club from Worcester Warriors in the summer of 2021.

Weir’s next appearance for the club will also be a landmark for the Scotland international, having made 149 appearances for the Warriors since his professional debut back in April 2010.

“This club was my boyhood club, and it’s a privilege every time I’m asked to pull on the shirt,” “I’ve really enjoyed being a part of this group this season and being more involved in the matchday squads, and I want to keep driving this team forwards and towards the top of the standings"

Head Coach Franco Smith added: ““Duncan has been an excellent servant to this club, and he acts as an outstanding mentor to our young players.

“We value the experience he brings to our environment, and we believe that it is important to pass this experience on to the next generation.
